Welcome to the ICA Congress 2007 in Dubai

We are thrilled to invite all of you to join ICA members, industry colleagues, family and friends at the 12th Biennial ICA Congress, to be held in the beautiful oasis of Dubai from May 5-9.

The Congress is always eagerly anticipated as the central gathering by our members and for the colored stone business, so this is an extremely exciting time for us. Following an extraordinary 2005 Congress in Bangkok, we wanted to create an equally inspiring and successful experience in one of the world’s most cosmopolitan and growing trade centers.

Over the past twenty years, the sand dunes of Dubai have been transformed into a booming global business destination with an ever-expanding skyline and a thriving hospitality industry. With the increased interest in Dubai as a trading center we felt this would be an exciting location for our next Congress here in the emerging Persian Gulf market of Dubai.

This year’s Congress theme, Embracing Global Trends from Mine to Market, connects with the dynamic transformation of this region into a major jewelry industry player. That movement has created vast new opportunities for all of us to develop or enhance business connections there. You’ll hear from Dubai leaders who will help us learn more about gaining access to this market sector.

We have been told by many in the Dubai diamond, gold and jewelry industry that they want to have colored gemstones in their product lines. However, they lack the experience and connections to buy them with confidence. ICA is in a uniquely powerful position to educate this region about everything from gemstone varieties and trading to mining, cutting and manufacturing.

Whether your goals include networking, education, doing business or just soaking up Dubai’s sun, sea and shopping, the 2007 ICA Congress will be well worth the trip. Our roster of speakers forms an exceptional list of international jewelry industry leaders who will share their invaluable expertise and insight. You’ll also have the chance to enjoy a variety of social events with friends, colleagues, and new acquaintances from around the world.

Dubai, UAE, May 9, 2007—Winners were selected in the fourth annual poster contest hosted by the International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA) during the group’s 12th biennial Congress in Dubai, May 5-9.
