ICA Announces Fifth International Poster Competition
ICA Announces Prizes for 5th ICA International Poster Competition. Deadline for entries - December 31, 2008
New York, December 4, 2008 - The International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA) announced prizes for the 5th ICA International Poster Competition, which will be held in conjunction with the ICA Congress scheduled for May 5-10, 2009 in Panyu, Guangzhou, China.
The top three winners will be awarded cash prizes in the amounts of:
- 1st Prize US$1,500
- 2nd Prize US$1,000
- 3rd Prize US$500
Participation in competition has grown, following previous competitions, to over 150 posters from nearly 30 countries.
By organizing the poster competition ICA encourages its members, as well as the colored gemstone community at large, art students and graphic designers to find new, creative ideas, to promote the appreciation and trade of colored gemstones through artistic poster designs.

Competition Guidelines:
The posters must be original designs, sized: 35 x 50 cm (12 x 20 inch) and should carry the ICA logo. The logo and ICA official name can be downloaded from the ICA website http://www.gemstone.org/gemsite-downloads/. An original written slogan can be added. All written information should be in English, however, ICA strongly encourages designers to add the slogan their national language as well.
Participants must submit a color printout of the poster, sized A4, along with the file on disk in one of the following formats: pdf, jpeg, eps, tif. The file should not be smaller than 36 MB and the resolution no less than 300 DPI.
The deadline for submitting posters is 31 December 2008.
The color print and the file on disk should be submitted only to the Coordinator of the Organizing Committee (contact details below).
By submitting a poster to the competition, designers declare that they are the owner of the images used in the poster and that they are allowed to use them in the poster design. The designer also accepts that the poster will be used by ICA in any form and manner that the association chooses while giving proper credit to the designer.
All the works from participants in the competition will be exhibited at the ICA Congress in Panyu, China and will be used by the association in its publications to promote the trade of colored gemstones worldwide.
Posters will be judged by ICA officials and members of the public. The three best designs will be awarded during the ICA Congress in Panyu in May of 2009.
