Membership Information

Any person principally engaged in mining, cutting, or wholesale distribution of natural colored gemstones for at least two years shall be eligible for regular membership. Applicants are required to have three sponsors, at least two of whom are members of ICA. Membership fee is $600 per year. Initiation fee of $500 is waived for 2024 as our way to extend relief during this extraordinary and challenging time of the pandemic.

This category, which carries no voting rights, includes retailers, geologists, gemologists, journalists, representatives of national association, government agencies, educational institutions and museums; also companies that provide support services to ICA: shipping, insurance, custom brokerage etc. Applicants are required to have three sponsors, at least two of whom are members of ICA. Persons under the age of 30 as of 31 December who qualify as regular members or associate members may apply for membership in this class. The normal entrance fee is waived, and dues are half that of the other two membership classes. Membership fee is $300 per year. Initiation fee of $500 is waived for 2021 as our way to extend relief during this extraordinary and challenging time of the pandemic.

Persons applying for junior membership status shall designate whether they wish to be Junior Regular or Junior Associate Members. The year the junior member attains the age of 30, the dues requirements revert to those of the other membership classes.

The normal entrance fee is waived, and dues are half that of a regular membership.

Student membership is US$300.

The year the student member completes their study, the dues requirements revert to those of the other membership classes.

Student Membership to be valid for one year. Students who are doing Undergraduate or Post Graduate Courses are covered under this category till completion of their course.

Corporate Membership is available for companies that have several employees who wish to become ICA members. There is no specific requirement other than all approved memberships need to be filed under the same company name. Corporate Membership does not apply to ownerships that have two or more divisions using different company names.
