Join Us Online for the CIBJO Congress

For the first time in the 95-year history of the World Jewellery Confederation, the 2021 CIBJO Congress will be conducted virtually, enabling work to continue safely and uninterrupted during the global COVID-19 pandemic.

So as to enable optimal participation of delegates living in different time zones across the globe, the congress will take place over a longer-than-usual period of time, during hours that will be convenient for the largest possible number of participants. The Opening Session is scheduled for Monday, November 1, 2021, with consequent sessions running November 2 through November 4, and from November 15 through November 18.

All Congress sessions will be recorded, and will be made available to delegates who were not able to participate because of time retraints. Several sessions will be streamed live to an unrestricted worldwide audience.

CIBJO Congresses serve as the official gathering place for the World Jewellery Confederation’s Assembly of Delegates. They also are the venue for the annual meetings of CIBJO’s sectoral commissions, where amendments can be introduced to the organisation’s definitive directories of international industry standards for diamonds, coloured stones, pearls, gem labs, precious metals and coral, known as the Blue Books. Congresses are also where the programme of the World Jewellery Confederation Education Foundation (WJCEF) and CIBJO’s ongoing cooperation with the United Nations is reported upon

INSTRUCTIONS FOR REGISTERING

The open sessions of the virtual CIBJO Congress 2021 are being held on the new Zoom Events platform, which provides participants access into a congress lobby, before and after each session, where they may network and interact with each other, as may one do in an in-person event.

The new Zoom system requires that you activate an updated Zoom Client for Meetings app on your computer or mobile device, and not just log in to Zoom via its website. You also need to be logged into your Zoom Client for Meetings app on your computer or mobile device using the same email address that you have registered for the CIBJO Congress.

EACH SESSION MUST BE REGISTERED FOR SEPARATELY - ALL SESSIONS CAN BE ATTENDED FREE OF CHARGE

 The 2021 CIBJO Congress will take place virtually November 1-4, 2021, and November 15-18,2021.

The congress will be conducted on the new Zoom Events platform, which allows congress delegates to mingle and interact in a common area, between and during formal meetings.

Sessions are being timed to enable optimal attendance by delegates linking in from multiple time zones, and thus only one or two will be held on any given day, for not more than two and half hours in total. The proceedings will be recorded, so that those delegates who may be unable participate live will be able to review a session after the event.

Certain of the congress sessions, including the Opening Ceremony, will open to public participation, and registration for them will begin on October 1, 2021. Other sessions will be by invitation only.
